Box Office Info/Policies
Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Asheville, the entrance for the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts is marked by the location of the center’s marquee at 18 Biltmore Avenue between Marble Slab Creamery and White Duck Taco. Patrons enter through the breezeway and into a large interior courtyard with multiple glass doors leading to the center’s lower lobby and box office.
 
Wortham Center for the Performing Arts Box Office Hours
  • Mondays - Closed
  • Tuesdays - Fridays 10:00am to 4:00pm
  • Saturdays 12:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Closed Sundays unless there is a performance; Box Office will open at 1:00pm and stay open until 30 minutes after curtain.
  • For evening performances, the Box Office opens 1.5 hours prior to curtain.

Tickets may be purchased:
  • In person at the box office during regular hours - $3.00 building operations fee per ticket.
  • By phone at 828-257-4530 during regular hours - $4.50 processing fee per order (tickets held at will-call or e-mailed) and a $3.00 building operations fee per ticket.  Tickets can be mailed to the patron for a $1 additional fee.
  • By mail to Wortham Center Box Office, 18 Biltmore Ave., Asheville, NC 28801 - $4.50 processing fee per order (tickets held at will-call) and a $3.00 building operations fee per ticket. Tickets can be mailed to the patron for a $1 additional fee.
  • On-line, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at www.worthamarts.org - $3.00 building operations fee per ticket and per ticket processing fees apply.
  • On all ticket purchases, 7% NC sales tax will be applied.

Student Rush Tickets: The Wortham Center offers a $10 day-of-show student rush tickets for performances in its Mainstage Series, based on ticket availability. This is an affordable way for area college students to enjoy the dance, theatre, music and special attractions performances that comprise this series, which runs annually from September to May. College students can call the box office at noon on the day of a performance to find out if student rush tickets are available. Students must visit the box office in person after noon on the day of a performance and present a valid college I.D. to purchase student rush tickets.

Arrival
Lobby doors and box office open 1 1/2-hours prior to performance time; the venue's doors generally open for seating 1/2-hour prior to the performance.

Policies
  • All sales are final; tickets are non-refundable.
  • Theatre Etiquette – Due to the intimate nature of performances, almost any noise may be disruptive for other patrons, as well as the performers on stage. Out of courtesy, we insist that all electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, watch alarms, etc.) be turned off. Read more about Theatre Etiquette
  • Latecomers are seated at the discretion of management.
  • Babes-in-arms are not permitted.
  • Photography and recording devices of any kind are not permitted during events.
  • Please note that the content of the show is owned and dictated by the performer and not by the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts; no refunds will be issued based on show content or artist expression.
  • The Wortham Center strictly prohibits ticket scalping and the resale of tickets on the premises. Furthermore, the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts box office is the only OFFICIAL TICKETING PROVIDER for events at the Wortham Center's venues: Diana Wortham Theatre, Tina McGuire Theatre, and Henry LaBrun Studio. Tickets obtained from other unauthorized sources may be stolen, counterfeit or invalid due to payment issues and will not be honored. Tickets purchased from other sources are often greatly inflated in price and are not eligible for assistance if tickets are ever lost or stolen or if the event is canceled or rescheduled. The Wortham Center is not responsible for tickets purchased from other sources.

Tickets through the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts Box Office can be paid by Cash, Check, American Express, MasterCard, Visa or American Express. Phone orders and online sales are by credit card only.

All sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable. Exchanges can be made within the Mainstage Series only or within the same event for a different performance. Returned tickets for donation can be made within the Mainstage Series only. Arrangements for exchanges and returns for donation must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled event/performance.
