The Main Lobby

The lobby is a 3,000 square-foot space that is well suited for a variety of purposes including larger receptions, private parties, sit-down dinners, fundraisers, and vendor events. Accessible through the Biltmore Avenue breezeway underneath our electronic marquee, the DWT Main Lobby offers natural light, convenient restrooms, use of a concessions area, and connection to two outdoor courtyards. Occupancy up to 300 people. Available after 5pm.

All events in the lobby require a Special City of Asheville Event Permit priced at $156.00.

  • $750.00
  • $550.00 (when rented in association with the DWT)
  • $300.00 (for one hour reception only when rented in association with the DWT)


The following info applies to renting the Main Lobby.

Labor Rates

Event Manager

All after-hours events require that an Event Manager be present.

  • $15/hr.
  • Minimum Call is 4 hours
  • Depending on the nature of the event, more than one event manager may be required
  • Overtime rate of time and a half applies for all hours over 8 in one day and/or hours worked before 7am or after 12 midnight.

Misc. Facility Info

  • Tables and chairs are available for rent.
  • While there is a concessions area with refrigeration space, there is not a kitchen nor an ice machine on premises.
  • Renters may work with any caterer they wish and are not required to purchase a package banquet deal.
  • Decorations are allowed as long as they are approved by DWT personnel in advance.
