Guilty or not guilty? That is the question – posed to you, the jury. Writer Bill Shakespeare encounters four of his own most famous characters (Macbeth, Iago, Hamlet, and Juliet) up-close, personal, and ticked-off. In this highly energetic and funny play featuring some of the Bard’s best quotes and speeches, Shakespeare must defend his own writing as the four characters challenge him to write in a modern way, arguing that no one really understands his plays anymore. You’ll help make the case for his lasting significance as you laugh so hard you bring Shakespeare back from the dead...Brilliantly entertaining!
Tickets: Regular $25, Student $20, Child $12
Free Pre-Show Showcase:
Diana Wortham Theatre presents a special free pre-show showcase featuring Nova Scotia singer-songwriters Tanya Davis and David Myles at 7:00pm, prior to Shakespeare On Trial. Ticket holders for Shakespeare On Trial and those interested in cutting edge poetry and music are invited to experience these other talented touring Canadian artists on the evening of the performance: poet, storyteller, musician and singer-writer Tanya Davis; and multi-award winning artist, songwriter and world music entertainer David Myles.
The appearances by these Nova Scotia artists, along with Shakespeare On Trial actors Jeremy Webb and Simon Henderson, is part of a cultural trade mission between the North Carolina Presenters Consortium (NCPC) and the Atlantic Presenters Association in Canada. Their October 23-30 tour is made possible by the Culture and Heritage Department of Nova Scotia Communities. Don't miss this opportunity to experience a taste of the rich culture that these Canadian artists have to offer.
