An extremely talented quintet, Gráda is causing a major stir. With players and influences from New Zealand to Galway to Dublin, and a signature sound described as full yet light, this band has quickly earned a reputation for their crowd-pleasing performances. Band member Alan Doherty (flute and vocals) will sound familiar to many as he is a featured soloist on The Lord of the Rings soundtrack. And likewise, band mate Colin Farrell (flute, viola, and vocals) is a former player with a band that is no stranger to Asheville audiences, the highly popular Flook. With a Compass Records contract and a heavy international touring schedule, Grada has worked hard for its fast success, and music lovers are the winners.
