(Toh-mawsh Koo-bee-neck): Age 0, born in Prague; Age 3, smuggled out of Czechoslovakia by his parents to escape the 1968 Soviet invasion; Age 5, witnessed first circus, an experience from which he became passionately interested in clowns, theater, and magic; Age 9, presented his first performance before a circle of elderly magicians; Age 13, got his first agent. A collision of absurdist theatre and circus magic, Kubínek’s exuberant show is equal parts comic brilliance, virtuosic vaudeville, and irresistible charm.
