Mountain Heart with Tony Rice

Revolutionary for its unique sound and captivating stage show, Mountain Heart's musical virtuosity, unmatched energy, and entertainment dynamics appeal to a wide variety of musical tastes. From the revered Grand Ole Opry to sharing the stage with the likes of Merle Haggard, George Jones, and Alison Krauss, the band’s wonderfully skilled players deftly combine elements of rock, jam band, country, blues, jazz, and bluegrass into a high-energy sound that is fresh and unmistakably their own. Appearing with Mountain Heart is guitar legend Tony Rice, who spans the range of acoustic music, including straight-ahead bluegrass, jazz-influenced new acoustic, and songwriter/folk. Also joining the group is banjo player Terry Baucom. A Monroe, NC native, "The Duke of Drive" is known for his hard driving banjo picking which recently earned him a 2010 IBMA Banjo Player of the Year nomination.
