This summer, the Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival returns to downtown Asheville July 16th, 17th & 18th.  In only 3 years, Laugh Your Asheville Off has become the largest stand-up comedy festival in the southeast.  This year’s festival will be featuring over 40 comics in 3 days at The Diana Wortham Theatre in Downtown Asheville, NC, there is something for everyone.

The festival prides and differentiates itself on its non-competitive base as the Laugh Your Asheville Off producers do not believe comedy should be judged. For this reason, Laugh Your Asheville Off is the most comic friendly festival in the country, allowing them to attract some of the freshest, funniest and best untapped talent in America. Such comics bring a new life to the show and comedy world, bringing great entertainment to festival goers while having a terrific venue to showcase their talent and be seen by top comedy business reps.

In addition, the Laugh Your Asheville Off team is actively involved in its community by being as green as possible and incorporating local businesses to share the in the festival’s press and exposure.

The festival is produced by Last Comic Standing producer, Charlie Gerencer, as well as NY Times best selling cook book author and stand-up comic, Greg Brown. Charlie & Greg were the perfect storm in bringing Laugh Your Asheville Off where it is today. Bringing comedy to Asheville was one thing but bringing a successful, non-formulaic, stand-up comedy festival in the age of big name, competition festivals, was another thing entirely. Greg’s experience as a comic and Charlie’s years of producing major live venue and television comedy shows was just what was needed to launch their vision that they both wanted to see for so long.  In a town miles away from Hollywood, they have accomplished what no other festival has been able to, selling out shows featuring virtual unknowns and garnering attention from the “industry” on their own terms.

The third annual Laugh Your Asheville Off curtain goes up on July 16th through 18th.  Be sure to reserve as soon as possible as these tickets don’t last.  Come on out to enjoy the clean mountain air, eat some tasty local fare and Laugh Your Asheville Off this summer!
