Two priceless performances by superstars of traditional American folk music. Winner of the National Medal of Arts, National Heritage Fellowship, and seven Grammy Awards (including a recent Lifetime Achievement Award), Doc Watson is a legendary performer who blends his traditional Appalachian musical roots with bluegrass, country, gospel and blues to create a unique style and an expansive repertoire. Joining him are Asheville’s own four-time Grammy-winning musician and folklorist David Holt and Doc’s grandson Richard Watson. Dedicated to performing and preserving traditional American music and stories, David Holt is well known for his performances and recordings of traditional mountain music and southern folktales.
