"Niall . . . shaking that hexagonal magic box like it was a Bond martini . . . a classic of new Irish music. Miss it if you dare." Irish Music Magazine / Living Tradition

Buille
It is rare that an individual instrument is reinvented by an individual musician, but according to The Irish Times and other raving critics, this is precisely what Niall Vallely (brother to Lúnasa's piper, Cillian Vallely) has accomplished with his concertina. Add to his virtuosic playing, his brother Caoimhín on piano (another member of the talented Vallely clan) and guitar powerhouse Paul Meehan (formerly with Dorsa, the Karan Casey Band, and Lúnasa) and you have Buille, one of the most potent new sounds emerging from Ireland. In the words of The Irish Times, "As fresh a breath that's blown through traditional and roots circles in a long, long time."
