A key member the celebrated Branford Marsalis Quartet for the past 10 years, Calderazzo has also established himself as a leader: His 2004 solo effort, “Haiku” earned kudus from respected reviewer Thomas Conrad: “The quality begins with Calderazzo's sheer skill. His two hands perform functions as independent as could be governed by one brain. He is both musically sophisticated and emotionally sincere.”
2007’s project Aamamcer included vocal contributions from Claudia Acuna and drew special praise: “Amanecer just might be the album that gets Calderazzo’s gifts as both a composer and a solo pianist embraced on a greater scale.” JazzTimes Magazine.
