Named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” (2009), and honored with a New York Dance and Performance Bessie Award and a Princess Grace Award for Choreography, Kyle Abraham is also the recipient of a coveted MacArthur ‘Genius’ Award. OUT Magazine called Abraham the “best and brightest creative talent to emerge in New York City.” Born into hip-hop culture in the late 1970s and grounded in classical cello, piano, and the visual arts, choreographer Kyle Abraham and his company Abraham.In.Motion flow from opera to rap, creating movement that is fresh and unique. Vogue has described Abraham’s work as “an avant-garde aesthetic, an original and politically minded downtown sensibility that doesn’t distinguish between genres.”
